The Activities Programme is designed to provide a selection of entertainment and leisure activities most of us take for granted. Many of our members are isolated as their disability restricts access to transport.

Such social activities give members the opportunity to go out and meet others, provide support and encouragement and let them know that they are not alone in the difficulties they face. Groups meet and participate in social activities within their area, such as pub lunches, darts, and theatre trips. These are run by staff and volunteers, some of whom are also visually impaired.

Many venues provide special facilities such as audio described performances in theatres and museums, we always engage specialist guides on such trips to add to the enjoyment of the event.

We have two minibuses which provide door to door transport taking away any worry. Wherever possible we provide support through our own volunteers or cater for a carer if assistance is needed.

Our Activities Programme is designed to maximise the ability visually impaired people to get out into the community, therefore removing the potential isolation that they might suffer. The Activities Programme is simple to access through our Insight newsletter which is packed with news and events.
